Car Accidents and Aggressive Driving

No one wants or expects to be in an accident, but as a driver on Colorado’s roads, you risk an auto accident every time you go out. Although most of us take advantage of the safety features of our cars to minimize the probability of injury in the event of an accident, there are millions of reported car accidents across the country and right here in Colorado each year. In most cases, these accidents result only in property damage with no injury, but even an accident with no injuries causes complication in our lives.

It is important to remember while driving that you cannot control the actions of the drivers with whom you share the road. This brings up one very common cause of Denver car accidents: aggressive driving. A combination of moving violations that result in danger to other people or their property can be considered aggressive driving. We all recognize it when we see it. The best defense that you as an individual have against aggressive driving is to be aware of your surroundings all the time. If you see another driver driving unsafely, try to put yourself into a safe space away from that vehicle.

With any car accident, if you are injured your first priority should be your health. Once your health and safety have been assured, speak with a Denver car accident attorney. Evaluating aggressive driving and negligence in an injury accident can be complicated, and while you are focusing on healing from your injuries, an aggressive driving accident lawyer can help you determine whether you have a valid legal claim. An experienced attorney can help you through the process of filing a legal claim against the negligent party in order to recover compensation for expensive medical and vehicle repair bills.

There is a great collection of information at the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety about aggressive driving including its most commonly talked about form: road rage. Generally, road rage is considered to be an extreme version of aggressive driving, and in many cases resulted in violent incidents on the road. With potential road rage incidents as with any other aggressive driving, the important thing is to try to avoid getting involved.

If you have been injured in an aggressive driving incident, make sure that your health is taken care of, and then speak with an attorney. The experienced Denver aggressive driving attorneys at The Law Firm of Fuicelli and Lee can evaluate your case, and work to recover the compensation you deserve.
